Biography

Daryl Smith is a Contemporary Christian Guitarist/Producer/Songwriter. His mission is to move people in a deep and profound manner by means of soulfully composed and passionately performed music.

Daryl grew up in the musically rich and diverse state of Mississippi. While calling Nashville home for years he has since returned to Mississippi to be closer to his roots and extended family.

With a career spanning decades Daryl has accompanied premier artists, performed in legendary venues, and been featured on successful recordings. He has worked with agencies such as Frasco Entertainment, Hit Attractions, and Mid-South Entertainment. He has opened for such acts as B. B. King, Mylon LeFevre, and Tommy Tutone and been privileged to perform with the likes of Urban Gospel Legend Vickie Yohe , internationally acclaimed songwriters and artists The Goodines, Bethany Goodine-Cranfield (Israel Houghton), Keith Thibodeaux (David and the Giants), Josh Scott (founder of JHS pedals and YouTube celebrity), and John Ragsdale among many others.

Daryl has had the experience of playing such legendary venues as the Delta Blues Festival and Nashville’s Exit/In, Elliston Square, Bluebird Café, and the Cannery as well as countless not-so-legendary venues tucked away in every corner of the South, the Mid West, and parts of the Atlantic Seaboard. He has also performed on several album tracks including one of the tracks for the Nashville Entertainment Association’s Best New Bands Album and tracks recorded at the Nashville studio of Grammy winning producer “Chips” Moman who also recorded Elvis Presley, B J Thomas, Willie Nelson, and many others.

Currently he is doing session work, producing, and working on putting together a touring band.
